Adam: Leaning against Peter tonight.
Peter: You've been a big help, Adam. Poor Adam.
Adam: I'm glad I could be of help, Grandpa.
Peter: Scruffs up his hair. You must be getting sick of that.
Adam: Used to it, considering his dad. Hugs Peter.
Peter: Hugs back! It's nice to have his smart grandson around.
Adam: …Thank you for dinner, Grandma.
Rosemary: You're welcome, sweetheart. Smiles.
Adam: …I'm sorry for waking you up last night.
Rosemary: It's alright, honey.
Adam: …Maybe I should go home if I'm disturbing you so much.
Rosemary: Nooo, Adam! You're not disturbing us at all! Likes having Adam around too.
Adam: Are you sure, Grandma? A bit worried about their health.
Rosemary: I'm sure, dear.
Peter: You're not going to put us in our graves any sooner.
Adam: Smiles a bit at her.
Rosemary: It's been wonderful having you, sweetie. Smiles back.
Adam: I like being here. I feel a lot better, really. Smiles. But… what about school?
Rosemary: Blinks! I'd forgotten about that! That's right!
Adam: Do you think I should go to school here…?
Rosemary: Well…
Peter: We love having you here Adam, but it would probably be for the best that you go to school when you're back with your mom and dad.
Rosemary: Cut off! Stares at Peter.
Adam: Nods thoughtfully. …And I do need to help Mom with her work, since I'll be taking over for her…
Peter & Rosemary: Stare at him.
Adam: Eyes widen. Uh-oh.
Peter: I knew you were smart, but… …So… it would be for the best. He is not our child, Rose. Don't try to keep him.
Adam: Biting his lip, looking nervous, and trying not to make eye-contact. Um… uh… A terrible liar and this isn't helping much.
Peter: Is hard to lie to, as is! Not because he's so adorable and such, but because, unlike John, is somewhat empathetic, but like John, he observes people's body language and tries to decipher it and usually succeeds. Frowns a little.
Adam: Stands suddenly. I'm going to bed. Good night.
Peter: Adam. Said in that tone that means, "Don't you move, Mister."
Adam: Deer caught in the headlights look.
Rosemary: Looks flummoxed herself.
Peter: Goes for the gentler approach, since he doesn't know anything yet. He just has a feeling that Adam isn't being honest or is hiding something. …Adam, you know that we love you very much… and you don't have to… hide anything from us, you know that, right?
Adam: Becoming more agitated with guilt. Um…
Rosemary: I know this tactic! …It didn't work well on John though. Peter is right, sweety…
Adam: Just stands there, looking like he's going to cry. I messed up things so bad and now I can't even smooth them over.
Rosemary: Goes right on over to coddle him, like she probably shouldn't! Doesn't want Adam to cry.
Adam: Um… I should probably go home… My dad is going to murder me. My dad is going to murder me. My dad is going to murder me… slow and painfully.
Peter: …Is there something you should be telling us, Adam?
Adam: N-No… Tears. Feels so ungrateful, lying to them after everything they've done.
Peter: Looks skeptical, but does remember what he told Rosemary. They shouldn't be badgering Adam about his problems while he's here. When he's ready, he'll talk on his own. Alright then, big guy.
Adam: This… makes him feel worse. Sobs.
Rosemary: Hugs him. It's alright, Adam… Not really sure what she's trying to console him about, but he looks distressed, so she's going to try to console him regardless!
Adam: Ashamed, but if he tells them the truth, his father will kill him. A bit of a tight situation. Calms down a bit. …I'm sooorry… Bows to them and to his room he goes, all flustered…
Rosemary: Quietly. Maybe we should get a hold of Jessica…
Peter: How do you plan on doing that?
Rosemary: I don't know… They always just dropped in kind of unexpectedly…
Peter: …And we don't even know where they live. Frowns!
Rosemary: How could I have overlooked that? So we have to wait for them to come by again before we can ask about why we don't even know where they live. A little offended. Thought Jessica and her son trusted her, but now it seems like they don't!
Peter: Maybe Ernest will know something. I can pay him a visit tomorrow.
Rosemary: What if he doesn't know anything though?
Peter: Either way, my son and I are going to have a talk.
Rosemary: Now Peter, maybe there's a good reason for all of it… Just sounds a little sad, though hopeful!
Peter: Maybe.
Rosemary: Let's just not think the worst of things… Okay?
Peter: You're right. No sense in it. I'm sure John has a reason for all of this.

Jessica: Just arrived back at the castle from a trip to Fahmeka with Katen and company. Decides to wait in her room for John.
Their Room: There's a book on John's end table!
Jessica: Looks over.
Book: It doesn't have a title or anything. It's quite obviously a journal of some sort.
Jessica: Will respect her husband's privacy for now, but will probably ask him about it when he comes in the room. Takes her clothes off and gets into bed.
John: Enters the room. Was in the library studying lucid dreaming.
Jessica: Smiles. …John.
John: Jessica… You're back. Smiles.
Jessica: Looking a bit pale and bandaged up around her middle, but sits up and holds her arms out to him.
John: Notices the paleness and the bandages and is soon right there with her, holding her closely.
Jessica: Hugs back closely, stroking his hair a bit. I'm alright, John…
John: …What happened? Hugging her just a bit tighter, though now that he's keenly aware of the bandages, he's careful to not put pressure near them.
Jessica: We were attacked by Demons just outside of Atlantis… Katen's in the infirmary…
John: Doesn't feel crushing guilt like he normally would. After all, Katen was with her and he trusts that he kept his wife as safe as physically possible. Now just concerned for both of them and hearing that is definitely fostering his growing resentment towards Demons as a whole. …I'm glad you're safe, Jessica…
Jessica: Nods and laughs a little. I'm sorry for having to worry you again, John…
John: It's not your fault…
John: …Are Katen's injuries severe? Yes, I am worried about him, my lovely wife.
Jessica: Frowns. …He was struck with poison… He wasn't doing very well last I saw him.
John: …I see… I hope the doctors can do something for him…
Jessica: Nods silently, frowning.
John: Looks like he's close to suggesting that he personally guard her… but then who would keep his twins safe? Or Celena?
Jessica: …Is Adam back? Sounds hopeful.
John: No… Not yet.
Jessica: Tries not to look disappointed. How're the girls?
John: They're doing great… They're going to be thrilled to see you're back.
Jessica: Smiles. It'll be good to see my little girls again. Pokes and tickles John a bit. When did you start keeping a diary… huh? Did you miss pouring your heart and soul out to me in bed at night that much? Smiles up at him fondly.
John: Though he's still concerned for her and Katen… it's kind of hard to keep being a worrywart when Jessica is around and he's just so glad to have her back. Not to mention it's just hard to be sad when she's around, period. Oh, my lovely wife… Chuckles and smiles down to her. Of course I missed that… I just resigned myself to sighing and staring out the window though. What you see right there is… Well… my dream dia… journal.
Jessica: Dream… journal…? I thought you never remembered your dreams?
John: I usually don't…
Jessica: Oh, you're keeping a journal so you can remember them.
John: Nods. I am…
Jessica: Well, there's nothing wrong with that. I thought about doing that once, but I'm just too lazy. I don't really believe in that dream-interpretation stuff anyway.
John: Frowns a little at that. Got done reading through a book about it… Not quite sure if the stuff is true, but just wants to research whatever he can.
Jessica: Looks a little surprised! You don't believe in all that, do you, John?
John: …I normally wouldn't…
Jessica: What's making you consider it? Lies down.
John: Lies down somewhat, but keeps his back propped up a little, so he can grab his book. My nightmares.
Jessica: Nightmares? What have you been having nightmares about?
John: My nightmares? I can remember those vividly. Even that one from long ago. Strange, considering that Elijah killed me with shadow beasts! …When Adam was taken, I had a nightmare that he was being carried away by… Can't really say it was Price in his dream. After all, he's never seen Price before, except for in his dreams/nightmares.
Jessica: You're having premonitions?
John: I'm not sure… I don't know what to think… but more recently, I had a nightmare that Adam had… been taken to the bathroom… and that he'd harmed himself… and when I awoke, he was on his way back to his room… and when I asked him where he was on his way from, he confirmed that it was the same place as where I had dreamed he was. Frowns even more.
Jessica: Blinks and looks thoughtful. Well… I've never really heard of any race but the Uray with the ability to see the future like that.
John: That's what I mean. I'm no Uray, so I'm trying to figure out if this is all just coincidence or not.
Jessica: …It doesn't sound like a coincidence… Thinking hard.
John: …I keep having the same vision of that… man in my dream… and it's always about Adam… When he's hurting or in danger. At least, those are the only similarities I've noticed to dreams that are connected at all to reality.
Jessica: …Adam… Bites her lip.
John: …We should visit him tomorrow… If you feel up to it… And take him back home…
Jessica: Nods. …I hope he's doing alright… Looks like she wants to say something but… doesn't want to say it.
John: I'm sure he's fine, Jessica… Looks to her questioningly.
Jessica: Twisting her hands and looking away from him. Nods.
John: …Jessica?
Jessica: Sorry, I was just thinking. How do you like it being a captain?
John: Frowns even more.
Jessica: Looks up at him expectantly.
John: It's alright… Now trying to think about what Jessica could have been thinking about. Maybe I should just ask her!
Jessica: Well, I was hoping you'd enjoy it more… Do you want to check on Katen?
John: I do enjoy it more… and… I do… but… Sighs a little. …I've let you into my thoughts… Won't you let me into yours? Feels a little dumb asking like that, but it just came out that way.
Jessica: Blushes, frowning a bit and not making eye contact. I was just wondering if it wasn't Daniel who was sending you those dreams.
John: Nods, though wonders why she's blushing. …That would… kind of make sense…
Jessica: He did say he was watching over us…
John: He did… and… I remember from the nightmare… The one before… someone was telling me to wake up…
Jessica: …To wake up?
John: Nods. Yes… During the nightmare… That man had left with Adam… and I was all alone… There was nothing around me. Just… white, as far as the eye could see… and then I heard a voice… telling me to wake up.
Jessica: But… Daniel's only supposed to be connected with Adam.
John: Because Adam is a Riser… but I'm not a Riser, so… Rubs his chin, now adorned with his old facial hair.
Jessica: …You do have his lung. Looks a bit skeptical at this.
John: …I do… Idly runs his hand over the scar from the transplant.
Jessica: Sighs. I'm sorry John, I shouldn't have brought it up.
John: Jessica… It doesn't bother me.
Jessica: Frowning.
John: I mean it… It's good to know that someone like Daniel is watching over us…
Jessica: Well, I want you to know that I rely on you… and… I give you credit for what you did for Adam.
John: I give myself credit for that too. Thank you, Jessica…
Jessica: I just don't want to hurt your feelings.
John: Oh, my lovely wife… Smiles a little.
Jessica: Still frowning. Rubs her stomach.
John: ..Here you are injured… and you're more concerned about my feelings.
Jessica: Wounds heal, John… How are you getting on with Elijah?
John: We haven't spoken.
Jessica: Frowns. John…
John: You suggested visiting Katen… Shall we?
Jessica: Sighs and gets up, putting on her robe and wincing a bit. I guess I shouldn't chastise you for it…
John: Offers his arm to her. …If it hurts to walk, maybe you should rest? Keeps his arm out though, in case she insists.
Jessica: Sighs, sitting back down. I think I should.
John: Leans down so he can kiss her forehead lightly. That is for the best… I'll be back soon, honey.
Jessica: Nods. I'll try to stay up for it. Smiles a bit, laying back down.
John: Leans down once more to kiss her on the lips when she's settled down. Don't stay up on my account… Get some rest. We can spend tomorrow together, alright love?
Jessica: Smiles. A bit reluctantly. Alright… It'll be good to see Adam, too.
John: Strokes her cheek and smiles down to her. We can bring the twins, Celena, and maybe even Middler too, if you would like. Should probably stop pouring affection onto his wife through kisses and touching, otherwise he's just going to want to stay here.
Jessica: Nods, smiling and closes her eyes. I'd like that.
John: Finally does stop stroking her cheek. I look forward to it… Until then, good night… my queen. I mean that affectionately too, since you'd be my queen, even if you weren't a queen.
Jessica: Smirks a little at that. Goood night, my knight.
John: Can't help but grin. Bows low, even if she can't see him and it's off to the infirmary.

Katen: Is barely conscious and not particularly lucid. Lying in a bed, pale and sweaty.
John: To his bedside. …Katen?
Katen: This seems to rouse him a bit and at least makes eye contact with John.
John: Very strange to see him like this. Really, John couldn't imagine Katen really suffering any sort of hindrance that would leave him like this. As if he could just shake off nearly anything.
Katen: Looks at him, a bit perplexed. …Where's… Dominique…?
John: …Dominique?
Katen: …Is she back yet…?
John: …I don't know who that is, Katen…
Katen: Smiles a little. …She'll be having the baby soon… I wonder… what we should name it…
John: Sighs a little. I'm sure the baby will be a beautiful one… Probably shouldn't be, 'playing along' with what seems to be a delusion.
Katen: Closes his eyes, still smiling. 'Hana', I think…
John: …It's perfect, I think.
Katen: Seems to drift off to sleep, trembling, the smile still faintly on his lips.
John: Dares to just lightly pat his shoulder. The very least he can do as far as gestures go to show that he appreciates all that he's done, even if he doesn't seem to be conscious to appreciate or even feel the touch.
Nick: Sniffs and sips tea.
Katen: Continues to sleep. Perhaps not peacefully.
John: Not much I can do for him now. I didn't even get to thank him… Your favorite distraught parent is here to talk with you, Dr. Romolo.
Nick: …Yes?
John: I was wondering if you're the one that is treating Katen…?
Nick: Yes, I am.
John: …How is he faring?
Nick: Frowns. Poorly… I've done what I could for him, but the poison has already traveled rather far in his bloodstream, making it more difficult to purge. The only thing to do now is to wait it out.
John: Nods. I see… Thank you.
Nick: You're welcome.
John: Bows and it's off to bed for him.

Jessica: Sleeping soundly.
John: Puts his notebook and a writing utensil close at hand, for when he wakes up, then slips into bed himself.

Daniel: 'Lo, John.
John: Hello Dan.
Daniel: Are you really angry tonight?
John: Why do you ask?
Daniel: Just making sure you don't tell me to, "fuck off" or some other not very nice thing.
John: Oh. I would have done that already.
Daniel: Sighs. How's your diary going?
John: It's going well.
Daniel: Laughs. Oh and your beautiful little son…
John: What about Adam? …Is he alright?
Daniel: He just totes made your parents suspicious about the Atlantis thing.
John: …Oh.
Daniel: Now you wish harm had come to him.
John: No. But this is kind of bad.
Daniel: Aren't children just delightful? What're you gonna do?
John: Not sure.
Daniel: You can't tell them the truth?
John: That is an option I am considering.
Daniel: You don't want them to have heart attacks.
John: True.
Daniel: Do you think they really would have heart attacks?
John: I don't think so… At least, I don't think my father would. I think my mother would go into hysterics though.
Daniel: Yeah. Well, she usually does… No offense.
John: None taken.
